Since our foundation in 1999, ACORDE has always maintained a strong interest in research and development in innovation related activities, which has allowed us to continually improve our catalogue of products. These activities have helped us achieve a high level of technological expertise in the field of telecommunications engineering. The participation of ACORDE in many research and development areas, covering cutting-edge technologies, enables us to design and put into practice new components and systems within short time periods and simultaneously allows us to improve our experience for the future. 

R&D is always a difficult task, which may sometimes lead to failures, but in ACORDE we believe that R&D combined with Quality is the only way to provide our clients with the best products available in the world market. Our R&D department has a reputation in Europe, above all in the area of Radio-communications, ranging over several fields from Satellite Communications, to WLAN and WPAN systems and Smart Wireless Sensor networks. We have a wide experience collaborating in R&D projects in the National Research Plan, as well as in European Projects within the different European Union Framework Programmes. At the moment there are several Research Topics under study in the R&D Department of ACORDE..

ACORDE also participates in several Research collaboration projects, from the Regional context right through to International. We are involved in many Spanish National Projects in Radio-communications or RF systems, and in European Projects, some within the European Union Framework (from Integrated Projects to Specific Targeted Research Projects), or in other ambits, such as EUREKA or the CELTIC programmes. In these European projects, ACORDE works with the most important European companies in the telecommunications sector, including operators such as Telefónica or France Telecom, electronics companies and semiconductor manufacturers such as PHILIPS, THALES, STM-MICROELECTRONICS, Motorola, Mitsubishi, NOKIA, Lucent Technologies, IBM, etc., other companies such as EADS, Dassault Aviation, Eurocopter, Intracom and Research Centres such as CEA-LETI, IMEC or CSEM.

As a consequence of the work and effort invested to R&D, ACORDE’s staff has published many technical and scientific studies related to the most relevant Research fields. These include articles/papers in conferences of the IEEE and journals (such as VTC, or Journals about Communications), European Symposia on Microwaves, The European Summit on Mobiles.
